When an email is sent from the Sports Illustrated Play system, there are a series of things that occur in order for the recipient to receive the email:
- The email gets queued up by the Sports Illustrated Play mail server.
- The Sports Illustrated Play mail server attempts to connect to recipient's mail server.
- The recipient's mail server processes the request and accepts or rejects the request.
The following can assist support in identifying an issue and improve deliverability to a specific Internet Service Provider:
- Please send the account name, email address, date and time (approximate time) the email was sent to firstname.lastname@example.org
NOTE: Issues are typically related to the recipient's mail server rejecting the email. Occasionally, an Internet Service Provider rejects the email being sent from the Sports Illustrated Play system. This can cause the connection to timeout when Sports Illustrated Play attempts to connect to the recipient's email, as stated in step two above. In this case, the email will remain in the Sports Illustrated Play queue and the mail server will continue to attempt to send the message.
